Recovering and Re-use of Salt by Zero Liquid Disccharge (ZLD)

Textile dyeing wastewater is a high-risk pollutant. 1,000 to 3,000 m3 of wastewater is produced after manufacturing 12 to 20 tons of textiles.

Zero Liquid Discharge is an energy-intensive, expensive solution. Hyrec’s concentration technology treats textile wastewaters using less energy to recover water and salts for direct reuse in the dyeing process. Hyrec’s system is a cost-effective alternative to expensive thermal brine concentrators.

SALT MANUFACTURING

Provides a New Way to Produce Salt

Solar evaporation is the least expensive salt production method but it requires special climatic conditions and large areas for evaporation ponds. Only a few places in the world, such as Australia, India, and Mexico are suitable for solar salt production.

CHLOR-ALKALI & SODA ASH

Salt Brine Feedstock

More than 50% of the world’s salt production is used by chlor alkali (36%) and soda ash (18%) industries.

Hyrec’s OARO technology produces >25% salt brine from seawater as feedstock for chlor-alkali and soda ash industries. This brine can be fed directly to production processes at 1/6 of the cost of conventional methods, using 80% fewer additives. Because of OARO’s 90% water recovery rate, plenty of fresh water is recovered that can be sold or used in other processes.
